“Hi guys, my name is Amber. I’m from Pakistan, and I am 21 years old. I am studying biology in the university of Debrecen in Hungary. I joined Plantar uma Árvore in June and spent 3 months working, until I had to leave to continue my studies. Identification of invasive, native and endemic species, protecting the native flora, working in the field and everything which I experienced in those months helped me a lot in broadening my horizons. I got firsthand experience about different cultures particularly Portuguese culture, their fauna and flora. I got the opportunity to go on a field trip to the Azores Islands which also added a lot to my experience and knowledge and it was a great opportunity to step outside my normal friends circle and see the world especially my own culture through someone else’s eyes and the differences that I came across made me more open, flexible and accepting. It was a great privilege to work with such an amazing team and an amazing and kind coordinator.
