“Hi! I’m Anugraha Joseph. I’m 24, from India. I have been living in Berlin,Germany for the past 6 months and that’s where I heard about Plantar uma Árvore. As an athlete I have always enjoyed outdoor activities and I am someone who travels a lot. I’ve always wanted a gypsy life where I travel, meet people and help around a little. So I didn’t have to think twice and that’s how I decided to join the team. I applied for the volunteering work in Sintra, Lisbon on European Solidarity Corps and I was interviewed by Ms. Mariana Dias. A week later I was accepted into the program. I arrived on 3rd August and have been living there since then. I also worked in Açores for a period of 9 days.

As a volunteer I had the opportunity to work and interact with a lot of amazing people from different parts of the world. I would like to mention a few names including Miguel, Julia, Luís and Mariana who took the initiative to organize everything and worked together with my fellow volunteers including Simone, Mira, Emma, Alfiannisa and Harika. Also, I learnt about various plant species and was able to identify invasive species among them. Working under the sun in hot weather conditions was challenging for me. Overall, it was a great experience. Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be a part of the family.”
